3M half face respirator and P-100 filters, bought mine online or at a store like Home Depot.
They come in a couple sizes. This is a chart for 3M (from Australia apparently, so it’s in cm) that should help. IME adults usually seem to get a size large. Do note that these respirators will require you to be clean-shaven.
The proper test after putting one on to check that it has a seal is to block the exhaust with your hands and try to exhale. This should cause it to lift off your face. If this doesn’t happen, the seal’s no good and you probably have to adjust the straps. Next, block the intake (can be difficult with certain filters) and try to inhale. You should not be able to. If you are, again, you’ll need to adjust the straps.
It should be a standard thing at any home improvement kinda store. Given there is an emergency in the area it might have to be ordered online. I don’t think there will be a run on them like with covid since the emergency is local enough.
A little disposable one that looks like a n95 is 10$ and that should last for a while if you don’t get like… ketchup on it.
