when I was around 13 or so I watched a ton of csi. the episode that convinced me that it was complete trash involves the investigation of a fatal hunting accident.
because the victim filed for a hefty life insurance policy recently, the cops are motivated to find the perpetrator.
instead, they discover that the victim actually killed himself to get his wife and unborn child the insurance payout. now, what do the cops do? do they toss the suicide weapon back in the SWAMP, dust off their hands and say “welp it was definitely an accident and this dudes family deserves the payout?”
rofl no this is American TV dumbass. they basically tell the wife LOL good luck being a jobless single mom, we told the insurance company that he suicided so you get nothing.
