I’m thinking about the AVGN and how Nintendo makes you pay to play shitty emulator games from like 50 years ago.
Especially for the very old games like atari lol
Not really except Super Mario Galaxy, one of my all time favorites
Yeah it’s honestly gotta mean more than like, a fixed number of years. Mario Galaxy plays and looks basically the same as Mario Odyssey.
Even like, other games released at the same time could be described as retro, such as FPS’s, most of which are very distinctly different than modern FPS games. The Battlefield that released right around the same time was Battlefield 2142. That has an old school vibe, maybe not the first thing I would think of when someone says retro, but it’s definitely dated. On the other hand Mario Galaxy is just a modern game.
I mean it’s retro for me seeing I was too young to use a controller when it came out
