Because going full fash is at odds with american history ala WWII the last war where america looked good because they were beating the nazis. That’s why the right has a big interest in making sure everyone knows their political enemies like antifa are the “real” nazis. That and there’s a cognitive dissonance in most burger brains where they know nazis are bad but they still agree with them.

I’d argue it’s the only war America looked good in. Civil War - the Union was on the right side but I wouldn’t really count that one.
