It would be funny if aliens visited Earth and instead of talking to humans they just ignored us as unimportant (outside of being destructive pests.)(hexbear.net)

The Earth is mostly water and most lifeforms are invertebrates. Aliens would probably try to do diplomacy with octopuses instead.
