does anyone remember the weird reddit turn when the redditors suddenly started saying shit like “yeah buzzfeed main site is clickbait trash but their news site is actually legit”

that had to just be astroturfing right?

I don’t think I’ll ever get over the Zenz shit to be honest. That was one of those circumstances where I was able to, on my own, track down the documents Zenz was referencing, do the math myself, and prove he was intentionally lying.

I specifically remember getting into like 3 or 4 separate long arguments on Reddit before I was banned where I would painstakingly go through the math using Zenz’s own report to prove to random libs that it’s falsified/manipulated birth control statistics and their brains would short circuit and they would get absolutely fucking furious or they would pretend not to understand the math and call me braindead and shit for not understanding simple math

They generated lots of money with that clickbait trash.

The clicbait is profitable, but it lead to bad reputation. They tried to fix the reputation problem with money by hiring top quality investigative journalist to their news site.

It is good though. They just had the unfortunate affiliation with the worst site.
