My grandfather was a carpenter and I knew these dudes who rented a mcmansion in a very wealthy area. 10 people lived there it was so big. Big time party house. Anyways I was always seeing signs of shitty construction like the trim not lined up in the corners of several rooms. The deck wasn’t varnished so it got termites and started to rot. A girl almost fell 20 feet, serious injury or death, because part of the deck railing she was leaning against just fell the fuck off.

But was valued at over 1,000,000. Post 2008 crash, even. Shithole. If there was an earthquake I’d have felt safer in the dilapidated punk squat we had underground music shows at.

My house was built in 1889. Does that count?
