I know. The subtleties in differences might be interesting for some. For general purposes and vocabularies it’s somewhat interchangeable. It doesn’t make anything better to be “only” fascism. Sometimes the notion of finding alternative words distracts from the issue.
Idk I would personally consider the features of racial supremacy and ethnic cleansing to be a pretty significant difference and not a particularly subtle one either.
Fascism pretty much includes those even though a fascist would say they aren’t a nazi
I mean, the links up above that span between 2006-2015 I would say illustrates the difference between the nationalism that Putin represents and the ethnonationalism that his government has cracked down on repeatedly, if you wanna counter that I’d suggest concrete examples over a handwaving of the differences as being irrelevant and of basically academic interest.
This is not really true and demonstrates a conflation of Nazi ideology with fascism. Some fascist states (while not opposed to it) did not have any particular interest in ethnic cleansing or even really racial supremacy as such. Mussolini is a good example of this, though he of course was content to implement these ideas later to better get along with the Nazis.
