Let’s do a little mini dunk tank in here and read this: https://www.thedailybeast.com/gravel-institute-deleted-tweets-reveal-a-progressive-groups-ukraine-meltdown

I’ll start: These dishonest little shits at the daily beast conflate the results of the Dec 1991 Ukrainian Independence Referendum with “how many people have a Ukrainian national identity”. As if that referendum didn’t happen in an incredibly tumultuous time in their history, in which circumstances (and a coup or two) had already made the dissolution of the soviet union very much inevitable. And you still saw 45% of ethnic russians vote for it in vain! But liberals are allergic to context.

When we say “they are a tiny minority but these neo nazis have been given disproportionate political power” liberals clap back “nuh uh they’re actually a tiny minority, also look at zelensky” when the video explicitly makes clear that these people and parties do not have majority support (hence why zelensky’s peace platform was popular! The problem is that he didn’t stick to it.)

It’s gone back and forth, back and forth again in history. In the past year and a half though, it’s completely settled. Ukraine definitely wants to be independent of Russia now.

Breadtube if it didn’t suck.

Post videos you genuinely enjoy and want to share, duh. Celebrate the diversity of interests shared by chapochatters by posting a deep dive into Venetian kelp farming, I dunno. Also media criticism, bite-sized versions of left-wing theory, all the stuff you expected. But I am curious about that kelp farming thing now that you mentioned it.

Low effort / spam videos might be removed, especially weeb content.

There is a cytube that you can paste videos into and watch with whoever happens to be around. It’s open submission unless there’s something important to commandeer it with at the time.

A weekly watch party happens every Saturday (Sunday down under), with video nominations Saturday-Monday, voting Monday-Thursday. See the pin for whatever stage it’s currently in.
