Yeah I vaguely remember watching live footage of the first Iraq invasion on TV with people in the living room at my dad’s friend’s house cheering it on like it was a fucking football game.
Capitalism itself is very reminiscent of that sort of cosmic horror; A vast uncaring and indifferent entity that simply seeks to consume all that it encounters, its machinations unable to be grasped by the majority that come into contact with it instead absorbing them into its horrifying designs and those of us that do glimpse the total scope of its being are almost ubiquitously driven mad with the knowledge of all that horror and human suffering.
