Look I understand your intention is to defend Taiwan’s autonomy. That’s not so bad, since they aren’t a right wing dictatorship like they used to be.

But the governments of Taiwan, mainland China, and the US all agree- Taiwan is a part of the single country of China and it is currently under separate administration. This is non-controversial, but it’s easy to confuse the agreed-upon autonomy as being associated with separate statehood, which normally go hand in hand.

Not according to the internationally accepted definition of nationhood as set forth in the Montevideo Convention, but sure.
