Booked a heap of our travel and accommodation for an upcoming US trip last night. Donโt think Iโve ever spent that much money in one go beforeโฆ They sure do love to nickel and dime you on everything what with listing one price, but then itโs plus taxes, plus service fee, plus extra if you want to guarantee your spot, extra if you want to sit together, gratuities not included.
Just saw an article on ABC about that exact thing (drip pricing.)
It must be exhausting to go anywhere in the US. Youโd need cash on hand to tip people in situations where you canโt just opt to add something to the amount taken off your card. Iโm also opposed to the tipping culture (like most rational people) but would be acutely aware that most of the workers youโd be likely to tip are relying on them.
