Yes, highly recommend being honest and open. A year or so ago for some reason my ex-stepdad was still tied to my mum’s bank account and for some reason rent didn’t go through, so we were like a week behind or something. Mum (who is a property manager so it probably helped) was honest and apologetic and explained the situation. And it was fine, was able to pay it in the end. If you have any questions, I can ask my mum about stuff related to this?
