I suppose a VERY forgiving person could give some 1930s ones a pass based on some really stretchy reasoning around “they thought it was hyperbole.” Not me.

Wtf are you talking about? “Tankies” are the ones who destroyed the 3rd reich and liberated the concentration camps you dolt. “Tankies” were the primary target of the Nazis for elimination and their main enemy on the battlefield. Tankies are the least likely group on Earth to support Nazis and will fight them to the death even when everyone else on Earth is tolerating them and collaborating with them. It’s Liberals and centrists and “progressive” soft-leftists who have an extensive history working with Nazis, not “tankies”
Can you name a single instance of political confluence between tankies and fascists? Communists were the first targets of the nazis, the axis powers formally called themselves the “Anti-COMINTERN Pact”.
I could rattle off countless instances of liberals praising, enabling, funding, arming, and befriending fascists, but we’d be here all day.
