Defense Politics Asia’s youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.
Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.
Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.
Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don’t want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it’s just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.
On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists’ side.

Would a joint response from Syria and Lebanon be good or bad? Syria is probably not in a place to go to war right now, but the entity going to war on 4 fronts (counting the West Bank) seems like a recipe for destruction.
Syria is getting dragged into this whether they like it or not, since Israel has threatened to bomb Damascus if Hezbollah enters the fray.
Fighting in Syria would draw in more support from Iranian expeditionary forces and allied paramilitaries, but could also give the US an excuse to start a bombing campaign.
For the people in Gaza, it’s good to spread Israel’s resources thin. Idk about the region as a whole, too many conditionalities.
Do you even need S400s to combat CAS? I thought the point of S400s were to maintain air superiority away from the front lines (e.g. over strategically important regions where dumping people with MANPADS every few km doesn’t make sense). If you’re in a CAS role, you’re targettable with far more portable weapons because your infrared signature will flare up like crazy.
