My nearly 10yo went with his Dad. He loves the games, and has no trouble separating fiction from real life. He loved it! I will admit to a moment of questioning my decision, but you know your kids best, and you know if they’ll cope with a more mature film.

They’re both familiar with the games and the Elder loves the books. The separating reality from fiction is an important factor isn’t it. I’ve always been at pains to point out the difference, whether it’s a scene from a movie or a picture of an influencer lol

It’s a skill that not all kids have, that’s for sure! I will admit I didn’t see the movie with them, but my son’s biggest concern wasn’t any violence or bodily harm, it was that they didn’t follow the story that he knows to the letter.
