No, I called the tradie and he told me heâs not working. I just met the REA as she was in the building and sheâs arranged for someone else to come let me in. Hopefully this one comes soon.
What I donât understand is, how does the REA not know that the tradie is not working? How did they assign him a job without checking??? đ
Itâs similar to how V/Line allocates emergency replacement buses.
They have a big list, and start calling the first one. If they canât do it, they get bumped down the list and they call the next bus operator on the list, until they have a hit.
Itâs much easier than having to track the availabilities of every operator.
most of them dont know. Trades HATE using the REAâs platform because the REAâs platform is often dogshit or worse try to charge the trade to use it (by the platform owner, not the REA). plus REAs are just customers of the tradies, so the tradies dont necessarily tell the REA that they are going on holiday. Even if they did (and some do) most systems dont have the capability to mark the trade as absent till X date.
Long story short: its a process less hellhole of organization.
