Low population means no incentive for privately funded infrastructure for those few times of high demand?

The thing i don’t understand about the article, is the reporter hasn’t asked a key question. Telstra says there shouldn’t be an issue with texting, but the shop owner says there are issues with texting. Are they taljing across each other there? Ie is the shop owner actually using fb, or another data based service?

Likely to be imessage - still though you would expect in a supposedly “first world” country that there would be a good internet connection everywhere. Unfortunately, it isn’t seen as the essential service it has now become

Everywhere with enough built in spare capacity for a relative sized population, at least. Which if they deem Esperance as too small and unpopular a destination for that kind of investment, then i question telstra’s decision makers/model.
