Hello Hexbear and Lemmygrad,

on grad we have a minecraft comunity with an associated minecraft server and matrix server. The server has been online sence quite a bit of time already, however, our playerbase is verry low and from my observation it seems most peoples aren’t aware of it or of /c/minecraft in general. And so, I took it upon myself to see if there is peoples who would be interested in joining.

How to join the server is explained here

I had the opportunity to play for a week or so, when I had access through game pass on an Xbox, but I no longer do. It was amazing, I’ve never felt so much at home in a multiplayer environment like when I was playing with y’all.

I wish this would be happening with Minetest instead of Minecraft, the price of Minecraft is a gatekeeping factor for many, including myself.

Have you tried downloading a free cracked version launcher?

In the meantime, you can at least join the matrix server.

I recommend UltimMC, though the server will need to have “online-mode” set to off, which will disable Mojang server validation and present some security vulnerabilities.

We do in fact.

Oh, looks a bit complicated, not sure I’ll be able to set this up, but I will definitely try tomorrow, first thing in the morning. Nonetheless, I’ll be asking some questions on Matrix if I run into problems. Thanks in advance!

I also wish Minetest was considered. It is totally configurable with a plethora of mods, all of which are optional, and is totally free. And I just find it much nicer than Minecraft in general.

But I understand that hosting a server is not easy, and personally I don’t think I could host a Minetest server at this time.
