I don’t really like to idolize people. But I think wikileaks was a good thing.

I’m not sure about the rape case. But sending him back to Sweden to stand trial would mean us extraditing him to the U.S. Our constitution forbids sending prisoners to where they might get tortured or executed, but we’ve broken that law before.

Sweden is a country so terrified of making anyone our enemy that we’re nobody’s friend.

Yup. We even released people to be taken to their torture camps during the Iraq war, as refugees ended up here. I have no idea if the CIA even had reason to believe they were terrorists.

That’s what people said then. That it didn’t matter “because they were terrorists”. Like that should have any relevance. It was our fucking constitution we violated. A pretty damn important part of it, too.

As a nation, we’re like the people who claim to be “nice”, when in reality, we just ain’t got a backbone.
