Key here being “call themselves socialists” and not “socialists”. The quote tweet even has fucking “LIBERAL” capitalized as if it’s emphasizing how bad they’re being by making this decision and not summing up exactly why the decision was made.
They’re terminally online “DemSocs” and “anarchists” who’ve outsourced studying theory to a streamer. Liberalism is inevitable in that context. Their conception of being a “socialist” is entirely “I follow the right BreadTubers and parrot what they say”, and shocker, the vast majority of BreadTubers are radlibs at best
