So I’ve been listening to the Revolutions podcast on the Russian Revolution, I’m 21 episodes in. I heard about the podcast because Brett O’Shea suggested listening to the Haitian revolution season so I was surprised the guy is such a lib.

Wondering what other people’s takes are on the history? I don’t know much about it, which is why I’m listening. Obviously he has a Big Man lens, and his lib tone is startlingly tolerant of monarchy and aristocracy, but wondering if I’m getting a good/fair picture of events by listening to him. Thoughts?

He is treating them as characters and he is not often kind to them in the recaps at the end of each season. I think he has said the Haitian Revolution radicalized him. And if you are truly paying attention no matter how tolerant he sounds, the monarchy and aristocracy get a big, BIG share of the blame each and every time.
