The US has essentially never stopped viewing Canadians as Americans-in-denial.

Thinking about this, as a Canadian, I don’t think that the US would need or want control of Canada. What the goal of neoliberal brand of fascism is that they want to control the economy and resources through American ownership of companies. They want financial rule of the country.
They do this already across the board with few exceptions in say the grocery store field and I think the banks. I don’t think they need more control, but they would want to control the banks.
So that’s what a takeover of Canada would look like. Buying banks.
