Maybe an invite system and barrier to entry to people without invites? I def think having it be so easy to create an account and immediately post blurs the line between transphobia/bad faithism/wrecking from external sources vs transphobia from within the community.

For new accounts without invites: 24hr voting cooldown, 48hr posting cooldown + a “new user” flair for the first month + first 50 comments/posts

Accounts with invites: no posting/voting cool down. However there would still be a “new user” flair for the first month+ first 50 comments/posts

Also a “committed user” flair which would be 3+ months, 100+ posts and maybe some sort of screening which would allow this user to invite people.

That way there is a balance between allowing growth and slowing reactionary content and also would help with transparency for when you see a post to know if it’s someone who has barely participated vs a more dedicated user. (And yea it’s kind of maybe not super accurate for lurkers like me but oh well, I enjoy using this site over reddit and don’t want to see it go down)
