Damn that’s rough. Don’t mean to be an asshole but why go out to eat at all? It’s definitely not safe.
Is takeout really safe though? I keep hearing people take it as a given, and honestly I am a bit paranoid because I’m dealing with some health issues at the moment and I do not need COVID on my plate as well. But … none of these places give paid sick leave. It’s almost guaranteed that at least one of the people involved in preparing your food is sick if rates are high enough in your state. In my state numbers are rising primarily in the 20-29 age group because they are the essential employees forced back to work.
It’s mostly safe. From what I read keeping distance/not interacting with the delivery driver, transferring the food from the takeout container into a clean dish, and washing your hands after all almost eliminates the risk. It isn’t a food borne pathogen. You need to either breath it in or have it contact with a mucus membrane (i.e. eyes, nose, mouth).
People really aren’t taking it seriously outside. I’ve had maybe 5/3-400 customers wearing masks and most don’t even really try to distance it’s rough. Try to stay in as much as possible if you can.
