I think this doesnt get enough attention, but the Democrat appeal to the left is to insist they share the same values and Dems just want to be more incremental about it. It’s an effective way to portray leftists as unreasonable ultras that aren’t interested in actually changing anything, but it’s all but proclaiming “we’re Marxists!” for the Republicans to take advantage of
