You are also right, we should definitely not consider any material motivations that the people leading this movement might actually have, especially ones they have openly admitted to having.

But the Ben Dixon style approach of accusing people of being plants & grifters is more divisive & better example of circular firing going on the left which wouldn’t happen as severely with MR solidarity
