My city is about to purchase a hotel and convert it into permanent supportive housing for the homeless, with police money for operating costs. This is one of the best things to happen in this hellscape of a city.
Enter the NIMBYs
Mackenzie Kelly , a ghoul who posed with Proud Boys during her city council campaign, asked for a week of deliberation to “educate her constituents about the hotel purchase.”
Instead, she organized protests against it. 200 NIMBYs, with food and refreshments.
In coalition with Freda’s Seafood (a restaurant nearby), GOP operative Matt Mackowiak , and the Austin Police Association are trying to stop this hotel purchase and also effectively criminalize homelessness in the city.
What can you do?
The deadline for this purchase is Thursday.

What ostensible reason do the police have to be against this? Man, fuck them.
I forgot to mention that the money for the operating costs are coming from money we slashed from the police budget, which is amazing. Edited the post to reflect that.
