It was probably considered, but never quite officially implemented/announced. It might be a good moment to consult the rest of the mod team and see what they think. This thread will also be useful to see if other people are interested in the idea.

Now, in regards to the thread, currently I have no target language — as I’m really occupied with IRL stuff — but I wouldn’t mind helping someone with Chinese (advanced), or Spanish (I’m a native).
