The people on his side who could vote against him don’t believe the pandemic is happening and think the electrical grid crashed due to alternative energy. That alternative energy threatens the industry poisoning them, the one driving statewide privitisation and deregulation which resulted in the electrical grid being below national standards. If someone tries to intervene they’ll probably be besieged by hicks with assault rifles like the Michigan governor. Ted Cruz won 80% of the republican primary in 2018. edit: Also, the broadband gap means their access to information is somewhere around what I had in 2003. Working for an ISP that serviced the great plains was very disturbing.
