Yeah, ive been thinking about the corruption of ‘socialism’ and how its really convenient to mislead people who hate liberals. A lot of brownshirts could be sympathetic to socialism if it wasnt associated with liberalism. Mussolini was a socialist first, remember. The inverse is also possible. The problem is people arent willing to study theory, theyre convinced of the manichean badness of socialism in such a way that they wont read marx and co. Theyre convinced by the media-military complex that the ideas arent worth learning about. Its a very prominent trend in the us to insulate our egos and people believe amerikan values are inherent to their identities. Ultimately what we need is a mass education program. People have too much confidence and not enough understanding or patience. So id like to see… if there were wealthy benefactors, it sounds wild but i think it would be so funny to see what happens if there was a mass campaign to send ML lit to police departments, the capitol, offices of bourgeois politicians, etc. I also like the idea of filling (refurbished from third party sellers) ereaders filled with communist propaganda distributed to unsuspecting elementary schools and middle schools and high schools, etc. As communists our responsibility is to lift the masses up to socialism so its important to give enemies of the masses an opportunity to change or too many people will stay alienated from curiosity. It’s kinda like how advertising works, isn’t it? If someone isn’t thirsty, they’re not gonna drink a Coke. But when they get thirsty, they’ll remember the ad. And seeing a Coke ad then might make them actually go buy a Coke. UbtoerEats and Door Dash work because people get hungry and they are convenient. People buy Rolex because it looks cool. So, for some people we need to make leftist look cool and ‘hip’, for others we need to make it convenient. And above all we need to ‘advertise’ leftism everywhere.
Tho I don’t feel comfortable with ‘leftist.’ Too nebulous. Leftist unity is a pipe dream. Anarchists need to read Lenin. A dotp is the path to a stateless society in the us. State socialism is the only solution.
Also feel weird about the advertising comparison. Sloganism doesn’t work. People need to develop our educations and read theory. Memes aren’t sufficient to develop the understanding necessary to practice the glorious science of dialectical materialism.
