That’s silly as hell. Like, I dress super punk but a great deal of people who are very heavily involved dress pretty normal and that’s chill. I live in a big enough place to have a scene but small enough people can’t just go off in their own corners.
We have it pretty good. Everyone more or less knows each other and there’s a central DIY space for shows, meetings, recordings jamming, free food fridge, screen printing etc. So the main venue/jam space for DIY music of whatever genre is also the main leftist space. It works pretty great
