Thats basically what its been for 2 months before today, just weekly posts about people getting mad that the name is changing but now today people act like the mods sprung this out of nowhere and the users havent been given more than a minute to reasonably and rationally suggest an alternative.
I mean, speaking only for me, all I saw before today was a couple vague “maybe we should change the name” posts, spread out over several months. I was certainly not aware that the name was definitively changing.
To be clear, I support changing the name, I’m just confused by suggestions that this was everywhere. Maybe I wasn’t looking in the right places?
Why would anyone suggest an alternative when the admins have been, in those very same discussions, making it pretty clear that the decision was already made?
In other words, what would give anyone here the impression that alternatives were wanted?
Doesnt prevent anyone from not whining and offering their sage advice about all other avenues of moderation on this site.
