Means the same thing. Supper is what posh people say. Dinner is what southern english people say. Northerners say Tea.

In NZ, supper is often a light meal taken late at night before bed. Like hot chocolate and a cookie. Dinner is a large meal taken at 5-6pm.
For the posh, Dinner is what you have before the Opera, and supper is what you have between the Opera and the Party
