If travel is ever possible again. Where should I go? I will definitely spend at least a week in Scotland and will also see the Bovington Tank Museum which is on the opposite side of the country.
I will probably be sticking to Great Britain. I’m thinking maybe two weeks in total, possibly three but I’m really just going to England to be depressed and angry and to see Bovington so realistically two.
UK Hexbearites and those unlucky enough to have traveled there - help me out.
If you like the Bovington Tank Museum then there’s the Imperial War Museum in London. There’s Duxford which is also IWM but it’s the aircraft museum part of it. There’s also the Leeds Royal Armouries which has a fantastic collection of weapons and armour, from swords to rifles. They even have a set of elephant armour too.
I also really like Edinburgh. Honestly, just go to Edinburgh and walk around. There’s tonnes of things to just pop in to or whatever. Don’t really recommend the castle though, it’s a bit boring compared to some others.
Stonehenge isn’t as good as avebury. Southeast has wild parrots that escaped in the 1800’s that are cool, some nice forts along the coast if you’re into that. Wales has a castle for every 10 people
I heard there’s a really big ram in Derby
Sad no ones mentioned Edinburgh, defo my fav city I’ve visited. It’s got it all (castle, hills, city, old stuff, new stuff), it’s super walkable and the museums are free. Also you can go watch the politicians debate in the parliament for free
Any time I visit a new place I always check out Atlas Obscura, their list is pretty good.
Also, if you’re a goth, visit Whitby.
