I’m real late to the party, so I just did a bit of clicking around… (I’m sure this has been discussed, but it genuinely shocked me) From their own website:

Black Hammer Organization; MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER TO JOIN NO WHITES ALLOWED: Membership in the Black Hammer Organization is exclusive to colonized people only.

what the absolute fuck?

No problem. The sheer audacity is fucking awesome. But, it’s rare. Just straight up shocking.

It seems like you don’t like a black only community part. Why?

I don’t know if they’re working in good faith but separatism and national autonomy are valid goals. I know I don’t want to be in a trans support group with cis people for instance—not to say that gender and race are exactly equivalent but I think the principle holds.

I don’t think they’re feds, but they’re doing fed work for free.

They’re probably targeting DSA to siphon off membership and donations, and they’ll quickly burn out any activists that join them. I doubt these clowns will be relevant to anything in six months.

If they aren’t on fed payroll they’re giving away their labor for free…

Their leader seems like a nut but I really don’t want any of them to get hurt or starve. You can’t grow much at their altitude without a lot of intense work done to the land.

I hope the most that happens is they get cold and come home. Maybe give the land back to whatever Indigenous people originally inhabited it.

was that land even inhabited pre colonization? it barely looks habitable without modern technology.

Even if it was whoever lived there probably did not preserve the required skills

I’m not sure; don’t know much about the indigenous history of Colorado. There are definitely people that thrive in similar conditions in other parts of the world though, with transhumance practices, seasonal hunting/foraging and terrace farming.
