I don’t like fancy G*mer shit like leds and back lights, the closer to looking like something OEM the better. I have no experience with wireless so I guess I’d prefer wired products.

my god, get one, that clicking is so satisfying

Been thinking about it because this keyboard’s getting old and it seems like the mechanical ones are low in price now? It looks like you can get one on aliexpress for like $20? Not sure if these are good or not though so that’s why I’m asking.

no experience with ali keyboards, but keep an eye on r/buildapcsales if you’re in the US. snagged a mechanical keyboard for 75% off :crush:

IDK how helpful this is, but I recently got an ali mechanical numberpad for number crunching, but I’m pleasantly surprised by it. It’s got some cheap mx blue style switches, and the default caps were super cheapy but the typing experience is pretty good so far, comparable to cherries to my uncultured fingers at least.

Don’t know how long the tactile bump will last though, I got one of the kailh razer keyboards a few years back and gaming on that for 8 years has really done the tactile bumps in on the left side. probably still worth it though, off brand switches are pretty cheap and replacements can be put in pretty easy.

you have to say what formfactor you’re looking for, some games or applications will make you wish you had a numpad for instance.

I gamed on a Magicforce 60%, and replaced the stock browns with Kailh Box Jades. it was easy enough on that board to do with the cheapest solder kit on amazon. All that with a G305 mouse or used/previous gen mx master should be comfortably under budget.

I found this should have added that I want the numpad.

You don’t need to bother with fancy lights is you don’t like them but I would absolutely recommend you get a back lit one. I don’t know anyone who would go back after having one.

I have a backlight keyboard (just white light) and it was the first thing I disabled. It’s only a distraction for me, I don;t have to look at the keyboard to type so its just irritating especially when I am in darker room.

mechanicalkeyboards.com is pretty good. You can filter out the RGB g**** shit. The Ducky One 2 is right around $100 and is very nice. Someone who is more of a PC person could probably tell you if there’s a cheaper mechanical.

Thanks but this looks to be out of my price range.

Yeah I really wish I had a better recommendation for your price. Sorry comrade. There might be something on that site that’s cheaper, I’m not sure. I was looking for a cheaper mech keyboard about 6 months ago, and that’s where I had ended up.

Well I found this for $70 with the cherry switches which I think are supposed to be good? Plus it’s logitech so that’s a plus for the brand I suppose.
