The Fuxing is the newest EMU (electric multiple unit) type in service on China’s high speed rail network. It is the fastest steel wheeled train in passenger service today, with trains capable of traveling at 350 kph (217 mph). It has a design speed of 400kph (250mph) that I believe they will achieve within the next decade or earlier. Long live Chinese high speed rail!
