i think this is the optimal burnout plan
i really just wanna spend a few years free from wage slavery being relentlessly machine washed by the force of mother earth ok :crush:
(im lucky ‘privileged’ enough to somewhat have a familial safety net, I would never be in real danger of being legitimately stuck in extreme poverty since I have good credit and middle class parents that would bail me out in any real danger) :blob-no-thoughts:
I’m from there and a lot of people try to live there and can’t sustain it, and leave after like a few years. Cost of living is insane, housing is insane unless you live in either a haole bait fake neighborhood on a shitty lava field next to no actual town/stores/infrastructure, or you live in like, puna district but you probably dont want to.
some people do really well but it’s a lot of people that can’t make it. I couldn’t even stay there because of the recession even though it’s my home
hence the “homeless” part of my plan rofl. Hawaii is like the best state in the US for providing housing to their homeless population, and they are only expanding the programs.
Honestly even if things DO workout and I get my degree and am thus pretty much job secure for the rest of my life, I might still spend a few years after college in Hawaii either starting my career there or spending a few gap years working as little as possible and enjoying myself as much as possible.

I haven’t researched the homeless programs in Hawaii a lot, but I know in Honolulu the pigs are constantly raiding homeless encampments and forcing them to move around over and over again, harassing and constantly ticketing them
damn, wish I could do that
