Actually a pretty good way to mess with conspiracy theories is to counter with a bigger one.

Another conspiracy theory I came up with: The US secretly brought African Swine Fever or new swine flu strains to China and infected their hogs.
It has it all: profit motive for the US pork industry, a way to test secretly releasing a virus in China before doing covid, and more ammo for CHINA BAD segments on the news.
