This is art
I would also miss the rightwing irony propaganda from the period of time before I learned how things work if I was a fucking liberal.
Seriously, I wonder how often people actually go back and watch the old Simpsons episodes. It’s boomer tier stuff with some good jokes.
There’s a great podcast, Talking Simpsons , which analyzes each episode to death, and reveals amazing factoids, political references, and other minor things. Plus the hosts are comrades, and have had all 5 Chapos on as guest hosts at least once. You haven’t appreciated “Homer’s Enemy” until you hear how it represents the alt-right.
Every single consumer falls for the same exact thing. Pop Culture. It uses irony and edginess to push heavy right wing shit to children 11-17. It lets us position ourselves “in opposition” to our parents while actually agreeing with the state and property owners.
I hate to be so reductive but it was true then and its true now: If you spend more time shitting on liberals than republicans than you aren’t a leftist, you’re a fucking republican. Regardless of who was holding office, the simpsons defined their voice by shitting on bill clinton more than any other person. Most of the simpsons writers are self-identifying libertarians who won’t engage on any issue more important than vegan school lunch options.
It’s sorta the reason I don’t take chapo or any of this dirtbag left shit serious. This community is somewhere between black pill consumerism and standard republicanism. Anti-liberalism as a personality trait just means you’re a republican.
The cycle will keep repeating and every single ‘generation’ well pretend the show they liked when they were 13 was the last righteous piece of art ever made. This community is 60/40 republican/liberal. I haven’t seen a single leftist post here just anti-liberalism and consumerism.
I watched them when kid, i certainly didn’t see the right wing propaganda
God I wish that were me.
