It seems like a mix of the PUA and Instagram subcultures in the West…

I still think the CCP can control it and reverse the trend…hopefully. It seems they went way too far in the Reform period.

This has always been my concern, it’s the same trap the Soviets were stuck in by pursuing socialism in one state. They’re competing with capitalist nations on capitalist terms and therefore need the luxury goods and consumerist lifestyle to keep citizens happy and willing to work on the national project, but at the same time these are corrupting influences that change the class characteristic of the future generations being raised under them. idk I’m just some internet weirdo

The level of materialist rot capitalism generates in people fills me with despair. Will these new bougie types willingly give up their parasitic wealth? They haven’t in the West or in any other developing country. In fact, I fear they will wholeheartedly go along with Western agencies to topple the CPC instead (if they can’t bring them down from within).

A lot of parents feed into this shit with unrealistic expectations and overloading kids with study so they don’t have any romantic experience until way too late.

The really shitty thing is that dating these days is a crapshoot just about everywhere. So many young people are disillusioned or just don’t have the time/energy. And really, there’s not much fundamental difference between “I want a man who wears an Omega” and “I want a man who’s 6"2’.”

I am curious has the redpill ever spread to china like the one where they think the patriarchy doesn’t exist , and women are oppressing them?

Western Red Pill shit doesn’t translate as well to most of the East Asian cultures because there’s a greater emphasis on settling down and getting married than just having a ton of anonymous sex.

Most Red Pill ideology is aimed at the latter and treats the former with contempt (“beta bux”).

A space for masculine folks to talk about living under patriarchy.

Detoxing masculinity since 1990!

You don’t get points for feminism, feminism is expected.

Guidelines:

  1. Questions over blame
  2. Humility over pride
  3. Wisdom over dogma
  4. Actions over image

Rules (expansions on the guidelines):

  1. Mistakes should be learning experiences when possible.
    • Do not attack comrades displaying vulnerability for what they acknowledge are mistakes.
    • If you see good-faith behavior that’s toxic, do your best to explain why it’s toxic.
    • If you don’t have the energy to engage, report and move on.
    • This includes past mistakes. If you’ve overcome extreme reactionary behavior, we’d love to know how.
    • A widened range of acceptable discussion means a greater need for sensitivity and patience for your comrades.
    • Examples:
      • “This is reactionary. Here’s why.”
      • “I know that {reality}, but I feel like {toxicity}”
      • “I don’t understand why this is reactionary, but it feels like it {spoilered details}”
  2. You are not entitled to the emotional labor of others.
    • Constantly info-dumping and letting us sort through your psyche is not healthy for any of us.
    • If you feel a criticism of you is unfair, do not lash out.
    • If you can’t engage self-critically, delete your post.
    • If you don’t know how to phrase why it’s unfair, say so.
  3. No singular masculine ideal.
    • This includes promoting gender-neutral traits like “courage” or “integrity” as “manly”.
    • Suggestions for an individual to replace a toxic ideal is fine.
    • Don’t reinforce the idea the fulfillment requires masculinity.
    • This also includes tendency struggle-sessions.
  4. No lifestyle content.
    • Post the picture of your new grill in !food (feminine people like grills too smh my head).
    • Post the picture of the fish you caught in !sports (feminine people like fish too smdh my damn head).
    • At best, stuff like this is off-topic. At worst, it’s reinforcing genders norms…
    • If you’re not trying to be seen as masculine for your lifestyle content, it’s irrelevant to this comm. If you are trying to be seen as masculine, let’s have a discussion about why these things are seen as masculine.
