I don’t think this is an exclusively German thing, or right wing thing oddly. I remember reading about left groups in Italy and France who’d name themselves after Indian tribes and dress up as them. They kind of put a left spin on it because they were LARPing as “primitive communists resisting imperialism” or some shit.

Still pretty fucking cringe.
