I generally think c/main was not the best idea and it should have been like an r/all kind of thing. I think it basically encourages us to participate in the community like we did on the subreddit in one general area instead of taking advantage of the other communities that Lemmy allows us to have. I hope that as we grow as a community we see that this is an entire website built by and for us. The whole ass website is our space and we can branch out and actually have content organized in an accessible way instead of post vomiting it all on c/main.
Already we’re seeing people calling out others saying “this content belongs in this community and not this one” and I’m highly encouraging that kind of community accountability. We should definitely be encouraging usage of the different communities that people are taking time out of their day to moderate and lead the way on. :)
