Was at a college game the other day; absolutely wild. Never been before, so was very much a cultural tourist. The chanting, everyone wearing the same clothes, the day drinking, the military worship, the insane prices for the worst food, the stadium was very under staffed, all of it. Just bonkers, even in normal times. But during covid, during collapse, was just a surreal experience. “They Live” meets “Hunger Games”
I’ve avoided college games for this exact reason. I dont live too far from the Oakland A’s and don’t mind going to that, it’s typically pretty tame and almost never even close to selling out so you can have a little bit of space. I’d never go though if it was packed, it would be bit overwhelming and too loud for me. Also yeah the prices are absurdly, like $9 16oz beers and the worst fucking pizza and hotdogs for another $15 is outrageous
