I’m going to be the negative one here and say that the amount of it I’ve watched is hagiographical to the point of being ridiculous and attributes to Marx a very silly cookie cutter anime boy personality. Also, it seems like they’ve used almost all the scenes they animated on this trailer and the rest is clunky-looking CGI.

I enjoyed it. It definitely simplifies things, but it’s very fun to see Marx and Engels’ friendship over the years as a backdrop to the development of their theories. There are some cool and genuinely touching moments, as well.
