If you assume 538’s (generous) list of swing states (Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wisconsin) then 2/3 of the country live somewhere where their votes literally make no difference. I’m part of that 2/3, so what I do makes no difference.
It’s not a very satisfying argument, but it is effective, I use it offline all the time.
