“wanted to share the shower curtains that got hung in all North Little Rock yesterday. No way to clean them, can’t see the board through them, and in most cases we can’t move them far enough to get them out of the way. Plus many only fall to about shoulder height and provide no barrier protection.
“At middle school, they are all droopy like this and only go across part of the room. Apparently at the elementary schools they can slide back and forth all the way across the room.
“We have only received Quat cleaner that has to sit on surfaces for 10 minutes (4 minutes between classes), and the crappy brown paper towels.
“Most buildings got new filters, but middle school building was not able to be retrofitted for them. We would need a whole new HVAC system. Some teachers in classes with no ventilation, old closets, locker rooms, etc. Most rooms don’t have windows that open.”

Very cool and fun that my little sister graduated college this last spring and is starting her first year teaching this year. She’s already had parents berate her about the masks. She’s been an elementary teacher for a fucking week.
I don’t think so but I suppose I might be. If not then I wish your sister luck dealing with this shit right now too. I feel so bad for all the teachers right now but getting thrown into this your first year is especially rough.
My sister is on her second week of teaching (elementary level) at the same school as my mom. They are not okay and both desperately hoping that the district is forced to close soon. The conundrum is in that the only way they will close is if there are positive cases…
I would honestly be laughing my ass off every single day, if
1: I didn’t have any empathy with all the poor folks affected by the bullshit and
2: Y’all didn’t fucking interfere in our affairs.
I feel really bad for you because half of you are trapped in self-destructive brainworms, and the other half of you are trapped living with the fallout. But also annoyed with you because brainworms is your top export
Honestly, the vast majority of people abroad don’t buy that america is like this. As loud and weird as americans might be, they are still a wealthy first world country; there’s no way they could fail that catastrophically at something everyone else managed ok. You couldn’t tell most europeans that america is like this to such an extreme extent because they just wouldn’t believe that it could be allowed to go ahead, tbh we can barely wrap our heads around the healthcare thing - people I’ve spoken to don’t really believe the flint Michigan thing is really real either, because the US does very well with it’s cultural propaganda (in movies and TV and such) telling the rest of the world that they’re normal and wealthy and rational as a society.
Outside the US, no one who isn’t terminally online knows about this shit, because it’s not our business and its a bit too absurd to be true anyway.
They heard about people making fun of America being a death cult and just leaned into it.
I keep staring at this post and all I can see is the void.
