Ironically a manager at work told me about Chapo

I got linked to the subreddit and found a thread. It was like “According to Hogwarts lore, wizards shit their pants and just magic the waste into the sewer. So Hogwarts wouldn’t have bathrooms.”

And someone else asked, “Well how do they clean themselves, then?”

And someone else replied, “Communal ball rag.”

Someone else quoted it and said “this is the future leftists want” and from there I was hooked.

Yeah it’s almost like we should have kept the name chapo.chat so it would have been easier to find

I never listened to a single second of the podcast.

People on :reddit-logo: kept talking about how /r/chapotraphouse was a horrible, violent, removed place. Usually when some shitty racist sub was mentioned, at least a dozen chuds would come out of the woodwork to do free advertising, “uuuuh what about cth??? it’s also bad???”.

I was not even a left-winger but decided to check it out, realized it was actually pretty funny, and stuck around.

i discovered the podcast and then r/cth via a recommendation on r/hollywoodhandbook, which is a good and cool improv comedy podcast

way after that happened one of the podcast’s host, Hayes Davenport, became more openly lefty, runs another LA based socailly-oriented podcast and I think is about to go into real politics; feels good i made the right choice

There was an article critical of Hillary (this one) that particularly resonated me insofar as it pointed out how she would refuse anything, ANYTHING, if it meant raising taxes on the “middle class”.

All of reddit political subs despised it except for the conservative ones and this weird one about el chapo. I looked into what it was and it got me hooked.

My insane ex told me about and said I wouldn’t get it because I wasn’t left enough (I literally have no idea why she thought this).

I started posting there, and then she decided she hated it and that everyone on there was actually larping, they’re all racist/transphobic and she was the only real leftist. Then a month after we broke up she dm’d reBr0 and got me banned and I had to wait like a week for someone to unban me. Then I came here. Its a lame story.

Libs complained about it all the time for being full of dangerous communists. At that point I was a ML so I assumed it couldn’t be that bad.

Imagine my disappointment when it turned out to be a mostly socdem page.

For some reason I chose to walk to my classes instead of taking the bus (the bus was great and ran every 10 mins, I was just weird). As a result I walked like 3 hours a day and listened to a lot of podcasts. I used to listen to Pod Save America and eventually stumbled upon the Chapo podcast

Someone linked the Dollop episode about Trump into r/politics and I listened to it. Later I was :reddit-logo:-stalking Dave and saw that he had a lot of posts on something called r/ChapoTrapHouse, so I decided to check it out.

heard of the podcast being bad and edgy, specifically hbomb talking about their occasional use of the word “mongol*d”, then i watched some youtube video that was a clip of the chapo episode talking about conservative cartoons and some expose on trump screaming at people on airforce one and thought it was funny. then i went to the subreddit and then hexbear

I was on GamerGhazi, and checking reddit’s “other discussions” tab kept sending me to CTH pages with bigger discussions, so I eventually just added it.
