What does all this mean? What’s that book about anyways?

That’s the host of the Silk and Steel podcast, frequent guest on Radio War Nerd, and designated enemy of the state to Austr*lian media for daring to suggest Aussie soldiers did war crimes in Afghanistan and that Australia would be better off with normalized diplomatic relations with China as opposed to antagonizing them on the orders of Uncle Sam

Ah, cool, all I could find was some fantasy book about elves and a dragon queen.

Great guy, asked him for book recommendations about China/its revolution and he delivered. Books in question were:

Edgar Snow: Red star over China

Jack Belden: China shakes the world

Theodore White and Annalee Jacoby: Thunder Out of China

William H. Hinton: Fanshen: A documentary of revolution in a Chinese village

He also said that any Peter Hessler book was fine. I’ve only just started Red star and I’d recommend it.
